Anyone who has lived in London could place the Common that forms the center of the geographic end of the affair by Graham Greene. It does not really matter whether it is a place thought to be because that is what is happening in houses in or near the edge of the central place in the book. A relationship between a man and woman, between classes, between the interest could be anywhere.
Maurice Bendrix a suburbanite, old-fashioned, the southern extremity of the open space. He rents a room in which the efforts of his writing. He is a novelist with several books, and some criticism on his behalf. He is a passionate man, a skeptic, perhaps in every sense, and he is nothing less than a scheming a way to manipulate the friends, acquaintances and probably anyone to conduct his research, and perhaps provide your other interests as well. It was during one such foray into the mind of a fictional civil servant tried to invent it began to see Sarah Miles. It was a real woman civil servant, a scandal is designed to enter her husband's mind, although the more conventional way home.
Sarah and Henry, her ministry mandarin husband, living in large freehold on fashionable north side of the joint. One believes that, left entirely to their own devices, Maurice would not have much in common with the lifestyle Miles household. But when he meets Sarah, he finds a passionate woman whose devotion to the institution of marriage is not aligned satisfaction that comes from it. Sarah frustration are great, her needs are obvious, and the affair with Maurice fire.
Their passionate, highly physical work takes several years. One day in 1944, however, land a robot bomb outside the house of Maurice and he was injured in the explosion. At first Sarah thought he was dead. Then, somehow, their relationship ends, perhaps because it seems almost disappointed that he survived. They see nothing to each other for two years.
Maurice, of course, means she was moved to richer pastures, the other more novel lover who can satisfy its requirements in the new, less committed way. He hires a private detective to check on her. He talks to her husband and others with whom she met. What we discovered was surprising change of direction in life and her priorities, changes that neither he nor Sarah's husband can explain or accept.
At the end of the end of the affair is the space between people. Relationships are always limited, no matter how closely zajednički.Zajednički, geographical area between Maurice and Sarah, becomes a symbol of the no man's land that must be crossed when people interact. We enter into this field when it is our intention to go some way to meet other minds, but perhaps we never really leave dom.Području can be entered, but probably not crossed, when reciprocity is at least partly a common desire to meet in uncertain territory . However, it remains a place that can be drawn, the space may be abandoned at will.
However, what appears in the End of the Affair is that this area is specific to particular relationships. Scratch the surface of various NGOs and the same person, and it will reveal a different territory, perhaps even sharing with the first recognizable landmarks. Perhaps, then, the project to others what we want them to be. Perhaps relations have never actually shared, and remain, at best pragmatic and, perhaps, at the end of selfish. Finally, the end of the affair suggests that they are not, but it is only a suggestion.
